Bloomsburg Field Hockey Wins Easily at Millersville

BLOOMSBURG — Eight different players scored goals for Bloomsburg as the Huskies cruised to a 8-0 victory at Millersville on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/ Lackawanna Trail) got the Huskies on the board at 17:33 mark on an assist from junior Maribeth Brozena (Larksville/ Wyoming Valley West). Sophomore Morgan Wolf (Oley/ Oley Valley High School) then added a goal at the 24:55 mark to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead going into the half.

The Huskies made it 3-0 when All-American Kristi Ney (Dauphin/ Central Dauphin East) scored on an assist from Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/ Greenwood) at the 41st minute. Bloomsburg went on to score five more goals in the second half. Jamie Vanartsdalen (Philadelphia/ Lower Moreland), Marie Zorzi (Mountaintop/ Crestwood), Elizabeth Macready (Denver, Cocalico), Brinley Geiger (Kutztown/ Northwestern Lehigh) and Tara Bourke (Hopatcong, NJ/ Pope John XVIII) rounded out the scoring for the Huskies. Goalie Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley, Lake-Lehman) had three saves for Bloomsburg

With the win, the Huskies improve to 11-1 and 7-1 in the PSAC. The Huskies return home on Tuesday to take on Kutztown at 4 p.m.
